Absolute must visit when you are in Victoria! Fantastic vibe and love the historic location too. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal, we were very grateful! It was an amazing evening, the management, food and service was top notch. Bar pulls the best Guinness! Seriously! Creamy, perfect temp, full body not bitter. If you are a Guinness fan, treat yourself! Enjoy!

Went with my fiancee and a friend a few weeks ago. Definitely a nice neighborhood pub- currently nice for outdoor seating, and seems to be OK with the dogs outdoors. The speed of service was good, we didn't have to wait longer than about 8-10 minutes until our order was taken, and it looked like a busy night. The food was brought out in a timely manner as well, nothing was missing, food was hot. I has the fish burger with avocado. Unfortunately the avocado didn't do so much for me but it was good nonetheless. I would definitely come back to try more menu items, as they looked really good as well. Update: August 20, 2023 Good visit today, but something caught my attention that I had to update my review. Great service, great attentiveness to cleaning our table, and offering more drinks, I am very happy with that! Just a few things to comment on the food: Hits: Flavour of the "The Inn salad" - very tangy, the goat cheese is a lovely flavour with the raspberry, definitely a solid salad. Crispy and sweet flavour of the "Honey Hot" chicken wings - great texture, has an amazing crunch, sweeter flavour than spicy. Misses: The all-too noticeable browning of the salad... I realize the salad is a nice blend of pigmented greens, but there were leaves that were nicely browned, and have that mushy consistency that definitely didn't go with fresh greens. Now the flavour of the salad dressing, goat cheese, and almonds did a great job masking the flavour of the turning greens. But I did manage to get that odd consistency. A second miss; the flavour of the "Classic Hot" wings was okay, just wished it was a bit spicier. The texture was also not as Crispy as the Honey Hot, which I know there's the possibility of these wings having a different treatment compared to other flavours, but the experience just wasn't as good. Overall I may need to revisit and check out the other menu items to see if it was just an off day. Always a lovely neighborhood spot, with a great patio, though. (Last 3 photos from recent visit)

Wow! What a gem off the beaten path. The Fernwood Ale is a nice light lager. The mussels, well might be the best we have ever had. So glad we stopped to enjoy. Sorry the mussels were so good I couldn't stop for a photo till it was too late! lol

The tiramisu dessert was incredibly delicious, and the pet-friendly patio added immense value to our visit. While the prices are not low, the outstanding food quality justifies the cost. The Shepherd's pie was particularly delightful, making it a must-try. Must have to visit in Victoria! The atmosphere was welcoming! Great job! Thanks!

Before the strawberry market, we dined in for brunch! The hot plate tasted good and baked potato mixed with sweet potato was yummy! We like the scone as it’s crispy on both sides. The add-on fruit was fresh & sweet. The patio environment is comfy! Will come back again later!

Stumbled across this gem off the beaten path on route to pick up a book at a used bookstore, and I'm really glad we did!! The historic charm of the building and neighbourhood is immediate. With street and retractable canopy outdoor seating, and indoor restaurant and bar places to sit, there are plenty of options to enjoy a beverage and a bite to eat. The food was great as was the service!

Had a reservation for eight people before walking kitty-corner to the Belfrey theatre for a drama production. The manager and the server were very attentive and made sure we were able to get served and eat before the production. We also came back after for last call which was around 11 PM and featured 5 pints! For supper, two of the specials were sold out so I defaulted to the chicken Parmesan, which was excellent: crispy fried chicken with lots of sauce and a rich risotto on the side. My seating companion went for a fancy Nicoise salad with tofu. The food is much better than typical pub food Yet still reasonably priced. I would say it’s a go to for the neighbourhood especially with the friendly staff.
